Sayvy 1.3.7 — Getting Started
=======================================

The savvy way to talk.

Free, private voice dictation for your Mac. Hold a key, speak, let go — your
words appear wherever you're typing.

Used WispaFlow before? Sayvy is its new name. Install Sayvy and open it: it
keeps all your settings, dictionary and history, and moves the old WispaFlow
app to the Bin for you.

WHAT YOU NEED
-------------
• A Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 26 or newer.
• About 700 MB of free space for the speech model (downloaded once).


INSTALL (about 5 minutes)

1. Drag Sayvy into the Applications folder in this window.

2. Open Sayvy from Applications.
   The first time, macOS says Apple "could not verify Sayvy is free of
   malware" (or that it "can't verify the developer"). That's because
   Sayvy is a free app that isn't sold through Apple. Click Done, then
   open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click
   "Open Anyway" next to Sayvy, and confirm with your password.
   (Needed once for each version you download yourself — updates from
   inside Sayvy install on their own.)

3. The setup guide opens. Work down the list:
   • Microphone — click Allow.
   • Accessibility — click Open Settings and switch Sayvy on.
     On macOS 27 this list is called "Device Control and Data Access".
     If the step doesn't tick after a few seconds, click "Relaunch Sayvy".
   • Speech model — downloads automatically (632 MB).
   • Apple Intelligence — turn it on in System Settings → Apple Intelligence
     & Siri for the best results (polished punctuation, self-corrections,
     lists, Command Mode). Sayvy still works without it.
   • The 🌐 fn key — set System Settings → Keyboard → "Press 🌐 key to" →
     Do Nothing.

4. Click in the "Try it here" box, hold fn and talk. Let go to insert.


EVERYDAY USE
------------
• Hold fn ............... dictate while held, release to insert
• Double-tap fn ......... hands-free; tap fn again to finish
• Esc ................... cancel
• Select text + hold fn ⌃ ... Command Mode ("make this more formal")
• ⌃⌘V ................... paste your last dictation again
• Say "new paragraph", "scratch that", or end with "press enter"

Change any shortcut in Sayvy → Settings. Open Sayvy from the
waveform icon in the menu bar.


PRIVACY
-------
Speech recognition and clean-up run on your Mac. Your dictionary, notes and
settings sync only through your own iCloud Drive (Settings → iCloud sync).
Nothing is sent anywhere else unless you add your own cloud AI key.
